Chiral polyhedra and almost simple groups with socle PSL(2,q)

Content: We discuss the existence of chiral polyhedra with automorphism group isomorphic to an almost simple groups with socle $PSL(2,q)$. We prove that there exists such a chiral polyhedron if and only if its group is not $M(1,9)$, $PSL(2,q)$ or $PGL(2,q)$ for any prime power $q$.
